Lips modelling

Botulinum Toxin is a drug that is injected to correct wrinkles in the upper third of the face (forehead, area around the eyes, area between the eyebrows). Its effect appears a few days after treatment, through a paralysis of the facial muscles responsible for expression wrinkles. In fact, only these wrinkles benefit from the treatment, which should not be considered a filler. Sessions are spaced two to three weeks apart.

Pigmentation treatment

Facial biorevitalization is performed with injectable treatments based on hyaluronic acid, vitamins and amino acids, usually following protocols with multiple sessions spaced two to three weeks apart. The biostimulation effect is achieved using small sterile threads inserted beneath the skin to stimulate the tissues' collagen production. The treatment is performed using very fine, short needles that are inserted and immediately withdrawn. The number of needles used can range from 5 to 20 depending on the size of the area treated. The two methods can be combined with extensive customization, with the aim of improving skin firmness and the aesthetic quality of facial skin, renewed and nourished from within.

Acne treatment

Lip contouring or augmentation is performed with hyaluronic acid. The final result takes into account the aesthetic standards for a given face shape but also, of course, the patient's requests. These may aim for very striking lips or simply a slight touch-up that highlights the lip borders. The treatment is outpatient and lasts a few minutes, preceded by the application of an anesthetic cream. The effect, once the normal swelling period of a few days has subsided, is immediately visible and lasts for a variable time depending on the product used for the correction.

Filler treatments with hyaluronic acid

For the treatment of pigmentation, brightening peels are often the best solution in terms of effectiveness and safety. In select cases, laser or microdiathermocoagulation can also be used. In any case, it is always good to combine home treatments with brightening substances, which must be used for several months to achieve the desired result. It is important to always protect the face with high-protection sunscreen.

For acne as well, peels of varying depth can be used to treat the most visible scars and renew the skin's surface layer, possibly combined with a filler for the more pronounced depressions. It is always advisable to combine this with a specific therapy for oily, acne-prone skin.

Filler treatment can be performed on all areas of the face. Synthetic hyaluronic acid, the main product used to correct wrinkles, is similar to that already present in the human body in the joints and skin. The treatments, highly customizable, aim to provide mechanical support to wrinkles of varying depth, drawing water from nearby tissue and giving substance and volume to the more depleted areas of the face. Usually only one session is needed, but multiple applications are sometimes recommended. The duration of the result varies depending on the area treated, tissue characteristics, and the product used, always CE-marked and authorized by the Ministry of Health.

Superficial and deep chemical peels

Peeling is a treatment in which an acid solution is applied to the skin to exfoliate and renew the superficial skin layer. It can be useful for reducing wrinkles caused by photoaging, various types of dark spots, and acne scars. There are numerous types of peels, differing in action, strength and effectiveness, but it is essential that the treatment, performed by a doctor, takes into account the skin's characteristics and the desired result. Applications last on average a quarter of an hour and are performed two to four weeks apart, depending on the substance used.

Soft-lifting with support and traction threads

An alternative to the classic surgical approach is Soft lifting with threads. These are inserted under the skin of the face using thin needle-cannulas and positioned to tighten the tissues and anchor them as in an actual lift. These threads are then reabsorbed over a variable period of time, but the effect, visible right away, lasts for a further, more or less long, period. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis with light local anesthesia.

Upper blepharoplasty (correction of drooping eyelids) and lower blepharoplasty (correction of “bags”)

Bags, heavy or wrinkled eyelids can be corrected with Blepharoplasty. Blepharoplasty can be performed on both the upper and lower eyelids, even at the same time. The procedure leaves minimal scars; on the upper eyelid, the scar is located, for about two-thirds of its length, at the bottom of the crease formed when opening the eyes, while for one-third it extends laterally and will therefore be visible, though concealable after a few days with concealer. Similarly, on the lower eyelid, the scar lies beneath the lash line and extends laterally for about one centimeter. Depending on the clinical case, the procedure can be limited to the removal of excess skin, or extended to the removal of deep fat pads and the repositioning of the orbital muscles, even reaching the point of being able to modify the “shape” of the eye. Small periorbital wrinkles known as “crow's feet” are not eliminated, however, but only improved as a result of the skin tightening. Blepharoplasty, usually performed as day surgery under local anesthesia, may sometimes require sedation. The stitches are removed after 6-7 days. The result, very good from the outset, although somewhat altered by the inevitable post-operative swelling and bruising, tends to stabilize within a few weeks.

Wrinkle correction with lipofilling

An alternative to filling wrinkles with hyaluronic acid is the use of one's own fat, harvested during liposculpture through the so-called 'lipofilling'. The material is then purified and made suitable for implantation with small cannulas beneath the more pronounced facial wrinkles, such as the nasolabial folds. It can likewise be used to correct structural facial defects, such as hypoplasia or soft tissue deficits. This treatment, although requiring a small procedure under local anesthesia to harvest the fat, has the double advantage of being able to fill large volumes and of using the patient's own cells, which do not cause rejection. Furthermore, the corrective effect lasts several years.

Mini-lift and full face, forehead and neck lift

The facelift is the procedure that smooths the skin of the face and neck, restoring their freshness and improving their contour by removing excess skin and suspending the underlying muscle layer. The procedure can be limited to a single area of the face (cheeks, neck) or extended to the entire face, depending on the individual problem. The scars that remain after the procedure are mostly located within the hairline or in areas that are not normally visible; the short section of scar in front of the ear gradually becomes less visible over time. Small superficial wrinkles or other minor defects, which cannot be corrected with a facelift, can be improved, depending on the case, with complementary therapies. The type of anesthesia, hospital stay, frequency of dressing changes, and timing of stitch removal depend on the individual clinical case and the technique used. The result is satisfactory from the very first days, although altered by the inevitable post-operative swelling, which subsides over the following days. The final result is achieved after 2-3 months.

Ear plastic surgery (Otoplasty)

“Protruding” or prominent ears can be corrected at any age with Otoplasty, acting both on the skin in the area behind the ear and on the cartilage, which is reshaped and brought closer to the head: the defect is in fact due to the shape and position of the cartilage itself. The procedure leaves no visible scars, as they are located in the crease behind the ear. The result is satisfactory right away, although altered by the inevitable post-operative swelling, which subsides over the following days. The stitches are removed later on, and the patient will need to wear a supportive headband to aid the ears' healing in their new position.

Eyebrow lift

The eyebrow lift smooths and raises the skin in the area above the eyebrow by removing excess skin and suspending the underlying muscle layer. Usually performed under local anesthesia, it gives a satisfactory result from the very first days, although altered by the inevitable post-operative swelling, which subsides over the following days. The final result is achieved after 2-3 months. The scar is usually hidden within the hairline. A valid alternative to surgery is the thread-lift method, which, for the eyebrow area, has the advantage of leaving no scar.

Aesthetic and functional rhinoseptoplasty

Rhinoplasty is the procedure that modifies and improves the shape and size of the nose, correcting defects the patient dislikes by reshaping the cartilaginous and bony skeleton. Access to these structures is through small incisions usually made inside the nostrils. If a deviated nasal septum is present, with a more or less variable degree of respiratory insufficiency, a Septoplasty can be combined with the Rhinoplasty to resolve breathing problems. The procedure takes 1-2 hours, and the type of anesthesia, hospital stay, and frequency of dressing changes depend on the individual clinical case and the technique used. The result is satisfactory from the very first days, although altered by the inevitable post-operative swelling, which subsides over the following months.
